The life cycle of star anise mainly includes the following stages:
Seedling stage: It takes at least 3 years from sowing to harvesting. During this period, the star anise tree mainly grows and does not have the ability to bear fruit.

Growth period: Fruiting begins after 3 years, but the yield and quality of star anise may not be stable at this stage. The fruiting period of soft-branch star anise can last up to 60 to 70 years, and the fruiting period of hard-branch star anise is generally 40 to 50 years.

Fruit-bearing period: If the growth environment conditions are excellent, the fruit-bearing period of star anise can last for decades or even longer. At this stage, the yield and quality of star anise are at their best.

Decline period: Over time, the growth of star anise will gradually weaken and eventually enter the decline period. This stage requires proper management and maintenance to extend the life cycle of the star anise tree.
